Snail

Each time I crawl out of that shell, you unintentionally shove me back in.

Each time you shove me back in, it takes longer to come out again.

I try, I really do.

But it makes me so tired. It wears you out, too, I know.

All my life I have been waiting for you to bring a fairytale to me.

You became that fairytale.

But your words echo in my mind.

And I woke up this morning crying even before my eyes were open.

If only you knew, I try, I really do.

Last night, I crawled back into that shell.

I can only wish that I didn't have to make the journey back there.

I can only wish that the shell wasn't so heavy.

*Dear all, I'm going on a short hiatus. I want to come back. Soon.

  • Sometimes we all need to draw back into our shells and reaffirm ourselves with our surroundings and the things that really matter to us.

Sometimes that might take a longer (or shorter) time than we had expected, but we can rest assured that we all come out in the end.

You're a fighter, Joy, and I wish you all the best on your hiatus ;)

  • Im not sure if i have mentioned this to you b4 but here goes...

You talk about moving in and out of ur shell i see that equivalent to the nature of a pendulum as it swings left to right over and over again.

As a child we allow ourselves to swing left(bliss) and right(sorrow)fully!completely!

and as a result of experiencing both ends of the swing they seem happiest.

Then as we grow and mature we forget we can swing back to the left...

we fear the left for we fear we will swing back to the right eventually...

being influenced by our fixed beliefs that nothing lasts forever.

so fully experience the sorrow then "choose" to swing back to higher grounds~

    God Bless~

  • Is Anonymous Ben?

Perhaps you have mentioned it before, but the swing back to the left is always the hardest, always the longest, the most dreaded.
